Painting

One of my favorite scenes at the fair. After the 5 minutes of craziness, the racetrack is littered with bright colors, tons of vintage lawn chairs and eerily quite. I raced for a spot one year for the sake of hearing some great Texas Country Music (Pat Green) and don't know that I can ever muster the courage to do it again...those people are hard core!

For Sale this Saturday. 30x40 inch wrapped canvas. Price TBA (a.k.a. I can't decide!)

Event Reminder

This Saturday I will have a booth at the Neshoba County Fair Arts and Crafts Fair. Look for the sage green tent at the end of a row by the office. Hope to see you there! For more information check out www.neshobacountyfair.org

New designs

In an effort to broaden my market appeal, I have branched out a little to offer some pieces that have a more traditional pottery feel. I had someone tell me a few weeks ago that my pottery was very "distinct." I didn't quite know how to take that, so I just decide to woo them in with a few pieces "not so distinct" all the while hoping they will branch out at least a little bit...once they see how beautiful nontraditional pottery can be!
Dough bowl $40

Medium Serving Bowl $30

Footballs

They say out of necessity comes creativity...and, well...TA-DA! My husband and I were having people over to watch a game and I needed something cute to serve popcorn, nuts and chex mix. We went out to my studio to brainstorm and thanks to my husband (this is one idea I can't take credit for) I crafted football bowls! This particular picture isn't that great, but you get the idea :)

Square Ruffle Dish

Varying in size, these are great for holding beverage napkins, crackers, or they can even be used as a baked brie dish...so versatile!

Mississippi Platters (small)

I love these!!!
I have marked some of these for particular cities with inlaid glass.
Perfect for a small serving piece or large spoon rest and anything else you can imagine!

a trip to the supply co...

This morning I took 2 friends to my supplier to pick out new glazes. We had so much fun. One picked out a glaze for dinnerware and the other for some serving pieces. I love to do custom glazes. All that means is: I take you with me to pick out a specific color. Your name goes on the glaze when I get back, and anytime you order a piece or someone else orders a present for you, I have a color I know you will love! It's a great idea for people who like pottery, but can't quite find the right color in a store. It also helps certain people...husbands...with Christmas and birthday shopping!
While I was there, I picked up 10 new colors, too! Check back the end of the week for pictures of my new Mississippi platter and color samples.
